Kane Bogo for Myers, Stafford, Lemieux, Amria 1st- DONE! (Winnipeg)

There it is, the tenure of two players who may have the most off-ice stigmas on the Winnipeg Jets have been moved.

The deal gives Buffalo an elite trigger man for their future with either McDavid or Eichel and an improvement on defense with New York native Zach Bogosian plus unsigned player Kasdorf.

The Jets on the other had get Tyler Myers, some one who is either a product of Buffalo or a symptom of their problems. As well they add Drew Stafford for forward depth and prospects of Joel Armia and Brendan Lemieux.

Here is the HERO chart for Stafford- select his name from list.

The Jets get depth, help and swap of what some consider problems for each team in Myers and Bogosian. The interesting fact here is that it is believe that Kane and Bogosian are not the best of friends either. Off ice issues have recently dogged Kane while rumours of personal issues have surrounded Bogo throughout this season.

This is Jet's GM Kevin Cheveldayoff's first player for player trade in the NHL and it happens with a huge bang.

Myers has 4 more years a 5.5 million Stafford's deal expires at the season he currently has a 4 million salary.

Darren Dreger just tweeted the following:

"Huge deal. Hearing Myers Stafford Armia and Lemieux plus a first for Kane and Bogosian as principles of deal getting close btwen Buf + Wpg."

this is massive!

Latest Update from Dreger says an unsigned Jets player may be involved too- that would be Burmistrov.

Update: believed other teams are trying to work with Buffalo and/or Jets particulary Washington and Arizona as per Gary Lawless

It's heating up with Evander Kane and in the thick if it is Bob Mackenzie reporting that the Jets and Sabres are trying to make a deal happen.

Here is how it's unfolding

So Jets fans who are your targets and how big could this deal be?

If Tyler Myers included- (yikes) salary has to be going back to Buffalo for the Jets to consider this kind of acquisition and would another right-handed D be going to Buffalo? Say a Zach Bogosian?

What about prospects? Armia has been speculated as a target too along with the Islanders first pick.

Now think about immediate help- would Stafford or Steward be included too? They would certainly add some help to the third line and general depth.

What about prospects?

Girgensons could be an intriguing piece too and perhaps the damage of playing in Buffalo is not ingrained like it might be on other players. It's all very speculative but fascinating just the same. I've never seen the appeal of dealing with Buffalo for what is a hot, raging tire fire of a team. However, the right pieces in a better situation could help the any team if the acquiring team does the diligence.

This is not about removing Evander Kane from the Jets, that has already happened. As the Grateful Dead sang, "He's gone, and nothings going to bring him back" and now it's all about the return. When losing a 23 year old talented power forward with 3 years left on a deal the return has to have future upside for the Jets not just immediate help.

More as it happens.
