Hasn't been much in the way of any Penguins news the past few days. They haven't played since Wednesday night's victory over Washington and had the day off yesterday.
Only thing of interest I have seen on the roster front was Jim Rutherford's conversation on 93.7 The Fan
Some highlights:
He did inquire about Jagr but the salary cap implications were always going to be a hurdle too high for the Penguins.
Stated he doesn't/never had any intentions of shopping/moving Paul Martin. Specifically stated the importance of he and Kris Letang's presence against the opposition's best players.
Claimed that Beau Bennett doesn't necessarily have to be more physical, he mentioned multiple times that Bennett needs to "learn the league".
Still open to taking phone calls about trades but will not be as aggressive as he has been in the past. Referenced the salary cap.
There was also a minor Jordan Staal reference.
Rutherford would not comment on Staal trade rumors because he can't...but did add since he (Staal) has left the #Pens they have missed him.

That is the second time this week Jim Rutherford has said the Penguins miss Jordan Staal.

Imagine being Brandon Sutter and hearing that.

Saying it once seems like a throwaway comment, saying it again in a separate interview is a budding trend.
Is Rutherford using it to motivate Sutter? If he is it will have to work better than the Ryan Kesler rumors did last year:

Toronto Maple Leafs Assistant General Manager Kyle Dubas spoke today at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference had some interesting things to say.
Dubas: There's a massive difference between gathering data and valuing it in decision-making. #SSAC15

.@kyledubas says recency bias is especially prevalent around trade deadline. Also in training camp.

Dubas - If you're into analytics, don't worry about fitting in to hockey. Hockey will fit to you, so keep doing what you're doing. #SSAC15

Looks like the Leafs are in pretty good hands these days.
