Jets Heritage Classic Logo Confirmed? (WHA)

UPDATE: Apparently I live in a vacuum (or under a snowbank) in Winnipeg and had not driven by Portage and Main to see that very logo on the Heritage Classic window display on the sponsor Scotia Bank's building. So we had a good idea they are using it but now it's confirmed?

Here is the jersey that will be worn by the Jets against the Oilers in the Heritage classic game:

Carry on...

It was tweeted out this morning as some one passed by the Jets Store at the MTS centre and like the current logo, was this a mistake?

Before in 2011 a delivery person inadvertently opened a box going to the Jets store and saw the logo and posted it on social media and again, although less of a surprise it seems to be mistakenly revealed again.

It's a throwback logo to the old days of the WHA Jets and one that is going to be celebrated in the alumni game. This jersey will be popular, to say the least. In fact it has long been hoped for as the official 'third' jersey for the Jets and despite how some would go look at lineage. especially with a Dale Hawerchuk jersey retired in Arizona, it's not going to be without some criticism.

So have it? Do you think it's right for the Winnipeg Jets, relocated from Atlanta, to use the lineage and the logos of the WHA Jets and eventually the NHL Jets of the 80's and 90's?

I don't care and really, those players and teams never had anything to do with Arizona or Phoenix or whatever. Had the new ownership in Phoenix embraced the Jets such as the Calgary Flames did when the first Atlanta team relocated then perhaps an argument could be made but in this case this is a heritage game and that's a different criteria in my humble opinion.

So let the debate begin but expect those sales to go through the roof.
