Immediate Thoughts (Penguins)

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals put on the show that everybody was looking for from the two teams. Both teams were excellent.

The Pittsburgh Penguins did blow a 3-0 lead and a lot of the mistakes were indeed self inflicted, but they stuck with the program with their even-strength play and were fortunate that they were able to cash in on a good chance in overtime.

Both goaltenders played at a high level for mostly all of the series.

The Washington Capitals are a great team and they need to stay the course. They lost to a great team and they don't need to make drastic changes because of it. There will be vultures surrounding Alex Ovechkin but the best thing about that is you know who to ignore moving forward. Don't fall victim to lazy writing.

Phil Kessel, who is a complete loser, had two goals and one assist in the game clinching series. He has five goals and 12 points in 11 playoff games this year.

This is Matt Murray's net.

Tough to ignore the Nick Bonino/Brandon Sutter comparisions.

There was some digital ink spilled on how Brooks Orpik's return would be a benefit *for Washington*

Those keys to the game weren't far off

I will have some more detailed thoughts in the near future.
