Hotstove: Most Underrated Team In The NHL? (Wild)

In this edition we share our picks for the NHL's most underrated team.

Todd Cordell

For me it's the Minnesota Wild and I'm not sure it's close.

They're not the flashiest team but they're very deep, balanced and littered with underrated two-way players who can play in all situations.

Jared Spurgeon, for example, might be the most under appreciated player in hockey and the Wild also have a plethora of others making significant contributions while flying under the radar.

The Wild are off to a very good start despite playing in the league's toughest division and not many people are talking about them. That should probably change.

James Tanner

Hurricanes, by a mile. They are good goal-tending away from being a decent team. Jordan Staal is up there with Kadri, Gardiner and Muzzin for being one of the most underrated players, and overall their team is a lot more solid than anyone seems to think.

They are probably out of it (more because they are in one of the two good divisions in hockey than anything else) but it's not impossible that their luck evens out and they go on a nice little run and end up close to, or even in, a playoff spot.
