I predicted the Penguins to win the Stanley Cup but I do think the Sharks will fight back and make things interesting.
To this point the Sharks haven't played well but they have too much talent to go away quietly. They have also had just three power plays through the first two games of the series. At some point they're going to start getting more calls and that could be trouble for Pittsburgh given how good the Sharks' power play is.
I think the Sharks will find a way to make this series at least six games long.
James Tanner No matter who is playing, a 2-0 lead is nearly insurmountable. Occasionally it happens, but I think it's around 80-85% probability that the team up 2-0 wins.
That being said, the Sharks got to the end of both games with a chance to win it and even though they seem to have mostly been outplayed overall, they could easily be 1-1 or even up 2-0 themselves and you have to think it's close to certain they'll play better than they did so I think they can at least make a good series out of it.
I hope they can make a comeback because not much is better in the NHL than a Final that goes to game seven.
Peter Tessier It's a cliche expression but you're not in trouble until you lose at home and the Sharks have not lost at home. In fact they've come close to winning both games on the road. 2 one-goal loses is not exactly dominance by the Penguins. Goaltenders can easily make liars out of those believing in stats as can this thing called luck.
Pittsburgh has had both good and bad luck as have the Sharks and right now the Penguins are doing just a bit more to get good offensive luck while the Sharks are getting some good defensive luck. Will that change? It might when DeBoer can have his match-ups with last shift. Perhaps home is where the hearts is and we see if Joe Thornton really has any heart.... oh you didn't Tessier ( I did).
Seriously, I'm not judging this series over until the Sharks lose at home and I don't expect them to in game 3. I also remember 2011.
