Over the last week I have literally covered thousands of miles and had limited access to the internet or sports, especially hockey and the San Jose Sharks.
However, I wasn't in Siberia and I do know that the Sharks have rebounded nicely from that ugly loss to New Jersey last week. With wins over both Washington and Boston, the Sharks proved they can hang with some of the Eastern Conferences stiffest competition.
Losing to the Arizona Coyotes is a bit frustrating, but I'll address that in my HOT and COLD section down below.

Since I'm still playing catch up I'm going to do my own version of HOT and COLD. This will help me get back into the swing of this and give the readers some food for thought.
Let's start with the HOT...
HOT - James Reimer - Since being acquired by the Sharks prior to the trade deadline Reimer has been pretty darn good for his new employer. Since losing his first start as a Shark, Reimer is 2-0 with a shutout. He's actually stopped 52 of the 54 shots he's faced. Pretty good start.
HOTTER - Joe Thornton is back on the saddle again after being left off the score sheet against the Devils. Thornton has three points (1g 2a) in the last two games. More importantly hasn't been held scoreless in consecutive games since the first Ice Age. HOTTEST - Brent Burns has 7 points in his last 5 games. He was especially good against Washington and Boston with a goal and an assist in both games.
Grab a light jacket or a scarf because this COLD list will chill you to the bone.
COLD - Martin Jones is 1-2 in his last three starts. He sandwiched a win over the Capitals between brutal losses to the Devils and the Coyotes, both non-playoff teams. His goals against in those two losses??? How about a frigid .886.
COLDER - Joonas Donskoi had a goal and an assist in the Bruins game, once again proving that even a blind squirrel finds a nut. In the 14 games prior, Donskoi mustered up a measly three assists. Hard to believe this is the same guy that had 4 goals and 7 assists during a 12 game stretch in January.
COLDEST - Logan Couture has two goals in his last twelve games and those two goals came in one game...against the Oilers. Brrrrrrrrr.....
thanks for reading, Steve
