Hagelin Signs + Mid Summer Reader Poll (Ducks)

Hagelin Gets a Big Contract

The Ducks signed their final restricted free agent Carl Hagelin. General Manager Bob Murray gave his newly acquired left wing a four year, $16M contract.

I haven't been shy about my opinion on Hagelin. I like the added dimension his speed brings to the team. When it comes to the penalty kill; he is “the offense on defense.… His tenacity and hustle will make him a fan favorite. As for his contract, I think $4M per season is a bit high to start. If Hags winds up as a 20 goal per season player, it could be a bargain come years three and four.
