The legendary "Mr. Hockey" himself Gordie Howe passed away this morning in Ohio.
Howe played in more than 1,700 games, posted over 1,800 points and won 4 Stanley Cups to go alongside his 6 Art Ross and 6 Hart Trophies. A 23-time All-Star, he also holds the record for the most amount of seasons played and retired from professional hockey at the age of 52.
He was responsible for the term “Gordie Howe hat trick…, where a player scored a goal, added an assist and fought in a single match. Strangely, he only achieved that feat twice in his entire career.
He will be missed by all, and hockey has truly lost a pioneer of the game.
May he rest in peace.
