What to watch:

1) With the trade deadline approaching, and the Devils still eight points out of a playoff spot, chances are New Jersey will be sellers.

Elliotte Friedman reported in his latest edition of 30 Thoughts that Jordin Tootoo is a guy who could be moved.

Via Friedman (note 10): The press box was packed with scouts for Arizona/New Jersey on Monday, and Jordin Tootoo was noticed. The Devils have him with Mike Cammalleri and Travis Zajac.

Tootoo recorded a point in his third straight game, the first time he’s done that since Feb. 2012. He played 10 minutes in just one of his first 38 games. He’s been above 15 in four of his past six, with the lowest at 13:56. Tootoo may get a rental shot.

I think the Devils have taken it too far with his ice time - especially considering Jagr's value is likely decreasing in the process - but if they can move Tootoo for an asset that can help moving forward good on them.

2) Teams trade for rentals because they want a piece that can help with the playoff push and in the playoffs. Jagr has had his ice cut significantly, and has failed to record a point in seven consecutive games as a result. New Jersey needs him to get going and pick up some points in these next few games before Monday.

3) Both Mark Giordano (47) and T.J. Brodie (34) have well over 30 points this year. To put that in perspective, the Devils have one player with more than 30 (Adam Henrique, 31). New Jersey best keep a close eye on them jumping in as trailers in the play. This is similar to what they faced with Keith Yandle and Oliver Edman-Larsson vs Arizona the other day.

4) Mike Cammalleri is red hot of late having recorded four goals and five points in his last three games. I'm sure he'll look to build off that against one of his former teams.
