After talking to my Leafs source, here are a few quick hits today prior to the show...
1. Phaneuf is staying, but possibly only to prove his worth. According to my source the Leafs are not happy with the returns they are getting and would rather keep Dion, however, ultimately if Phaneuf makes a large impression early on he could be a major chip.
2. The Stamkos situation continues to be monitored and many feel a deal could be struck..even one during this season (as long as it comes early in the season). The asking price is enormous of course and there is definitely more than one school of thought still within the council.
3. Kadri is available for the right price. Kadri is crazy talented, but not on any untouchable list.
4. The Leafs are content in goal for now. Very content.
5. Bozak will be moved as long as the price comes up a little bit higher. A first rounder is not in the cards, but I am told a 2nd and 4th has been discussed.
