Does Frolik Make Sense For The Devils? (Devils)

The NHL free agency window to speak to pending unrestricted free agents opened this morning and several players are drawing considerable interest.

One of those players is 27-year-old Czech winger Michael Frolik.

While the teams Frolik is set to meet with are unknown I would not be at all surprised if one of those teams is the New Jersey Devils.

Frolik can play both center and wing but is primarily a right winger. New Jersey currently only has Jordin Tootoo under contract on the right side so he would fill a big time positional need there.

Frolik is also an excellent possession player - he's good at both generating and suppressing shots - who has back-to-back 40-point seasons under his belt and would surely help out New Jersey's 28th ranked offense.

Frolik can play in all situations and has missed just one game over the last two seasons so he has proven to be quite durable.

His agent, Allan Walsh, seems to have a good working relationship with the Devils, too, which can't hurt.

I don't know that Frolik will end up in New Jersey but given the team's need for some help up front - especially on the right wing - and the amount of money they have to play around with it wouldn't surprise if they're among the interested parties.

Time will tell if that's the case.
