The Ottawa Senators have begun the interview process, having met with former Wild head coach Mike Yeo over the weekend.
Yeo was one of the candidates I mentioned last week, along with Guy Boucher and Marc Crawford, who Elliotte Friedman has reported will also meet with the Senators in the near future.
The Wild certainly played a decent defensive system under Yeo, and he certainly isn't afraid to ride his thoroughbreds like Ryan Suter for heavy minutes.
That is the biggest area of concern, and along with special teams, the biggest reasons why the Senators missed the playoffs this season. A lot of that can be made up for with system and accountability.
There will be more names added to the list, as almost certainly more coaches will get fired after their season's end and join the list of candidates. Again, as I mentioned before the Senators don't need to be in a rush since theirs is the only opening as of right now, but they definitely don't want to wait too long because there may be some more appealing jobs open up and they might not get their man. It is a fine line between waiting for the right man and taking the best man available at any given time, while also making sure it is the right fit.
So who would you like to see behind the bench? Whoever gets the job, Senators fans are hoping it isn't another Yo-Yeo season!
