Canes summer recap blog-by-blog (Hurricanes)

For those checking in with training camp finally on the tee for the end of the week, here is a quick sampling of the Canes summer blogs to catch you up:

This blog on June 11 identified "4 pillars" of the Canes summer. 2 of the 4 are resolved and 1 big 1 is still open.

On June 24, just before the draft, I took a shot at playing Ron Francis and actually had James Wisniewski at the top of my list of possible top 4 D adds via trade. The Canes ultimately added James Wisniewski and Eddie Lack within a few hours of each other on day 2 of the draft.

Only July 16, I provided my thoughts on the situation with Eric Staal’s contract. That is the biggest item from the ‘4 pillars’ blog at the beginning of the summer that is still unresolved.

Along the way, I launched a new web site and endured the usual slow August leading up to the real hockey that starts in a few days.

For those catching up after a summer away, I encourage you to check out the summer summary above.
