The Flyers sent forward Travis Konecny and defensemen Ivan Provorov and Travis Sanheim back to their junior teams on Wednesday.
While it may surprise some, I am not shocked at all by the moves. GM Ron Hextall has stated before an 18-year-old has to light it up to stick around and while there's no question Konecny, who impressed over others, is talented, there is no room for him here on a lower unit when he can get quality ice time in key, development years in junior.
Hextall made the right call.
Above that, the Flyers are cap strung and still need to clear money on defense to promote more speed on the back end.
