There are four teams tied for last in the Eastern Conference and seven teams within three points of the basement. In this edition of the hotstove, we discuss which team will be at the bottom when all is said and done.

I think it'll come down to Detroit and New Jersey but I'm going with the latter.
The Devils are last in the East in points percentage, last in goals for, last in goal differential and 2nd last in 5v5 Corsi For%. It's not as if they've dealt with a ton of injuries, or have reinforcements on the way, so I don't see much reason to expect things will be different down the stretch.
They don't score much, their defense isn't good enough and they will continue to lose a lot of games as a result.
James Tanner The last place team in the East will be the Red Wings by virtue of them being the worst team. The Sabres have Eichel, the Lightning and Florida are both better teams that they've shown. Greiss will keep the Islanders out of last.
In the West, it's going to be the Coyotes. As bad as they are, they might have a record that is lucky considering how they've played. The only real contender is the Avalanche and they are much better than they've shown. Not good, but better than the Coyotes.
