First on the agenda was the USA – Germany game. Scoreless after 1st period although both sides took a penalty each. Shots on goal were 11-7 in favor for the USA. Keith Kinkaid looked stable when he was forced to make a few clutch saves while American attack looked dangerous for the most part. In the 2nd team USA struck twice giving them a commanding lead from goals by Patrick Kane and Ryan. In the 3rd period DeBricant put an end to German chances scoring a goal to make it 3-1.
The second period began with a goal by Canada, Barzal appeared to have scored but Ryan O’Reilly was in the crease and interfered with the goalie therefor the call on the ice was overturned. Minutes later Eberle struck for Team Canada from a setup by Connor McDavid to make it 3-0. Shortly after it’s 4-0 after Ryan O’Reilly scored a beauty.
Towards the end of the game Canada managed to get a few more, Denmark got one of their own and the game ended with demanding 7-1 victory for Team Canada.
Other: Russia 7:0 France
