Nathan MacKinnon currently has 10 goals and 10 assists in his last 10 games...Not since the late 80s have we seen players with extended 2 points per game averages...He is making a huge case for league MVP...and yet almost silently, his linemate, Mikko Rantanen, has put up 18 points in the last 10 games himself...
Been a long time since we have seen such a deadly Canadian/Finnish combo... MacKinnon/Rantanen are following in the great Gretzky/Kurri, Kariya/Selanne lineage...
Many are saying Rantanen is good, but he is benefiting from MacKinnon....of course he is, but just how much of this is the other way around? How much is Mackinnon benefiting from Rantanen...last I checked MacKinnon had a great rookie year and fell off...until now...
Is there a better second year player in the NHL than Mikko Rantanen?
