On Black Friday, Jeff Skinner scored on the power play in OT to give the Buffalo Sabres their eighth straight win in The Battle Royale against Les Habitants.
Skinner sent the home crowd into a state of euphoria when he tied the score at 2-2 with 2:26 remaining in the third period when he backhanded a rebound from the left circle past Antti Niemi.
Jeff Skinner scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season and finished the game tied with David Pastrnak for the NHL goal scoring lead this season. Skinner will become UFA in July 2019 and is upping his market value with each and every goal he scores this season.
"He was a dog-on-a-bone mentality," Housley on Skinner. "Any loose puck or retrieval he was going to get on it and made some big saves the one time he dove to keep it in to keep position. That's what Jeff Skinner does, he can track down pucks for us." #Sabres #WorstToFirst

After he scored the OT winner against the Habs, Skinner told me he didn't even see the puck enter the net on his OT game winner.
Skinner told me he didn’t even see the puck go on the net in OT GDUB. He said the crowd told him puck went in the net #Sabres

Ever humble, Skinner told me he can't ever remember being on such a torrid goal scoring streak as he is right now with 17 goals in 23 games. He told me that he can definitively say he has never won eight straight games in his 9 year NHL career.
Skinner told me he doesn’t remember being this hot a goal scorer in NHL before.…I know I’ve never won eight straight games though… #Sabres

Rookie sensation and first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin was downright giddy when I spoke with him after the 3-2 OT win. Dahlin told me he is having the time of his young hockey life playing for teh Buffalo Sabres.
