What is the difference between Ek’s blogs and the Rumor Chart?
The Rumor Chart and My Rumor Blogs are two very different approaches..
In my rumor blogs, as long as I trust the source, I post whatever I am hearing. Many of you are always quick to point out the obvious questions, mainly, “How are they going to afford the player?… I wonder the same thing, but I also know that a logical approach to something is only as good as the facts you have. In fact, logic can ONLY be applied if you have all the factors. It is true that the Salary Cap is one of the biggest factors...and it is the ONLY factor we know for sure. Beyond the cap there are many factors behind the scenes...Another trade may be clearing space. The player may have issues with the coach or in the locker room. The agent may have told the GM he isn’t re-upping….and those are just some of the obvious factors we may know bits and pieces of… Bottom line...If a source tells me its possible, I tell you in my blogs…I also can’t post a rumor I am given off the record...
The Rumor Chart, on the other hand, is where I take all that I have been told...on AND off the record....and make my best educated guess about the likelihood a player will be traded and to where?
