Quick Hits: December 11, 2023

1)Coming off Saturday's rousing 5-2 road win over the Colorado Avalanche, the Flyers traveled to Nashville on Sunday. Today, the team will hold a 2 p.m. (ET) practice at Bridgestone Arena. On Tuesday night, the Flyers will conclude their current three-game road trip as they play the Nashville Predators.

On Wednesday, the Flyers will take an off-day. They'll host the Washington Capitals at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday (7:00 p.m. ET), hold a noon practice at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees on Friday, and then host the Detroit Red Wings at the Wells Fargo Center (7:00 p.m. ET) on Saturday. Sunday will be an off-day.

2) Yesterday evening, Jason Myrtetus and I recorded a 40-minute edition of the weekly "Mondays with Meltzer" episode of the Flyers Daily podcast. Among other topics, we discuss the Flyers' wins in Arizona and Colorado, sustainability, differences from a year ago and much more. To listen to the episode, click here.

3) Later today, look for a new "Farm Report" article on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com focused on the four Flyers prospects named to the preliminary/selection camp rosters for the 2023-24 World Junior Championships in Sweden: Cutter Gauthier (USA), Alex Ciernik (Slovakia), Oliver Bonk (Canada) and Denver Barkey (Canada). There are also updates on Russian prospects Matvei Michkov and Yegor Zavragin, who are ineligible for the WJC due to the IIHF's ban of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation from participation in IIHF-sanctioned tournments.

Last Tuesday -- prior to the Phantoms splitting their weekend games against Providence and Charlotte -- Brian Smith and I recorded the most recent "Prospect Pipeline" podcast for the Flyers Broadcast Network. To listen to the 23-minute episode, click here
