Hockey in the North Pole? Vyacheslav Fetisov has an idea and looks like he will make it happen.
Two-time Olympic champion Slava Fetisov has announced that next April not far from the North Pole a friendly hockey game will be organized. The game will be held in the Russian Geographical expedition ''Barneo'' camp.
It has been reported that there are multiple people that have already agreed to play (politicians and hockey players) from Canada, USA, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Iceland. Offers to play have also been extended to Holywood actors such as Jim Carrey and Leonardo DiCaprio, hope is that Vladimir Putin would also take part in the event.
''This idea is supported by everyone. Sports and ecology can unite people. This year we will meet with world-wide known people, athletes, politicians, movie stars to discuss the problems of our planet. I'm convinced that this game will have all of the world-famous Russian players'' said Fetisov.
''We are aware that we have to assure we have as many celebrities as possible. We have already sat down with Mr.Carrey, who seemed to be interested in our offer. DiCaprio said that he doesn't know how to skate, but I know that he is working on it - He will be ready once he has to step out and play''
''In near future, we are going to create an organizing committee, which will be tasked to create the format of the game as well as all the logistics.''
