A couple of notes on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The Pittsburgh Penguins are bringing in former Edmonton first-rounder Jesse Puljujarvi on a free-agent tryout. The 25-year-old is coming off double hip surgery but is no risk for a Pens club that is struggling to stay in the race for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on HNIC's Saturday night Headlines that there are early indications that defenseman Ethan Bear, also recovering from off-season surgery, may be headed to the Washington Capitals. The 26-year-old is a righty shot and after stints with Edmonton, Carolina and Vancouver, is looking for a landing spot with some opportunity.
