Not a whole lot to say heading into tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. After being handlded by Tampa in the 2021-22 playoffs, which led to an embarrassing sweep/exit of the Cats, Florida should be plenty fired up for these final two preseason games against the in-state rival.

Hear from Forsling, Balcers, and Coach Maurice on the final preseason games this week against Tampa â¬‡ï¸ pic.twitter.com/xLwmcgnpxh
Maurice will look to roll out a veteran-heavy lineup for tonight’s matchup that could be a preview of what’s to come at the season opener against the New York Islanders on October 13th.
Per Jameson Olive:
“Bennett, Verhaeghe and White at morning skate in gray jerseys. Hornqvist and Cousins in yellow. No Lomberg or Sourdif. With lots missing, possible Cats run 11/7, we'll see after skate wraps up.…
Not sure of the severity of the injuries but they have opened the door for some bubble guys and the Cats called Dalpe back up. Line combos at this morning’s skate (per Jameson):
Reinhart - Barkov - Heponiemi Luostarinen - Lundell - Balcers Mayhew - Dalpe - Hutsko Staal - Tierney
Forsling - Ekblad Staal - Montour Carlsson - Gudas Kiersted - MDZ
Both the Cats and Lightning have had disappointing preseason play. Each team has lost their last three in a row. I’d love to see this Panthers team finish strong these last two games heading into the regular season next week.
