Pre-game Report (Game 18): NYI @ PHI (Islanders)

*Apologies for the lack of articles recently. Life got busy and needed to take a quick break but we’ll be back to daily articles as of today!*

The New York Islanders will look to extend their streak to 14 games without a regulation loss, as they face the Philadelphia Flyers today. Here’s the pre-game report.

According to NHL.com’s Adam Kimelman, here are the projected lineups:

NEW YORK

Anders Lee - Mathew Barzal - Jordan Eberle Anthony Beauvillier - Brock Nelson - Derick Brassard Josh Bailey - Casey Cizikas - Cal Clutterbuck Michael Dal Colle - Ross Johnston - Leo Komarov

Adam Pelech - Ryan Pulock Devon Toews - Scott Mayfield Nick Leddy - Johnny Boychuk

Thomas Greiss Semyon Varlamov

PHILADELPHIA

James van Riemsdyk - Claude Giroux - Joel Farabee Oskar Lindblom - Sean Couturier - Travis Konecny Carsen Twarynski - Kevin Hayes - Jakub Voracek Andy Andreoff - Michael Raffl - Tyler Pitlick

Ivan Provorov - Matt Niskanen Shayne Gostisbehere - Justin Braun Travis Sanheim - Philippe Myers

Brian Elliott Carter Hart

Thomas Greiss is expected to start, coming into the game with a 7-1 record and ridiculous .942 save percentage. Noah Dobson will be scratched. Casey Cizikas will center Josh Bailey and Cal Clutterbuck, which is actually a pretty interesting trio and one that I’d like to see get some extended time together. Cizikas is certainly capable of being a third-line center despite usually having played on the fourth line and putting Bailey on the third line spreads the scoring around a bit. It also means Anthony Beauvillier stays in the top-six, which is a good move.

Despite a losing record on the road, the Flyers are 6-1-2 at home. Brian Elliott is expected to start, coming in with a 4-2-1 record and .909 save percentage.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
