The Carolina Hurricanes host the struggling Detroit Red Wings tonight. Here’s the pre-game report.
According to NHL.com’s Kurt Dusterberg, here are the projected lineups: CAROLINA Andrei Svechnikov - Sebastian Aho - Warren Foegele Nino Niederreiter - Jordan Staal - Teuvo Teravainen Ryan Dzingel - Erik Haula - Martin Necas Brock McGinn - Lucas Wallmark - Brian Gibbons Jaccob Slavin - Dougie Hamilton Jake Gardiner - Brett Pesce Joel Edmundson - Trevor van Riemsdyk Petr Mrazek James Reimer DETROIT Tyler Bertuzzi - Dylan Larkin - Darren Helm Andreas Athanasiou - Valtteri Filppula - Anthony Mantha Brendan Perlini - Frans Nielsen - Taro Hirose Justin Abdelkader - Jacob de la Rose - Adam Erne Patrik Nemeth - Filip Hronek Mike Green - Joe Hicketts Trevor Daley - Madison Bowey Jimmy Howard Jonathan Bernier Petr Mrazek will start, coming off two very strong starts in which he’s allowed just one goal on 61 shots. The Hurricanes are opting to go with 12 forwards once again, as Warren Foegele plays alongside Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho. Jake Gardiner will once again slot into the top-four, paired with Brett Pesce.
Jimmy Howard will start for Detroit, while Brendan Perlini will play his first game with the Red Wings since being traded from Chicago. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
