Lots of reports and all the sources seem to be saying the same thing at this hour. William Nylander will be extended by the Toronto Maple Leafs. This will give Toronto four players, four forwards in the $11 million range.
There is no question that Nylander has been one of the best Maple Leafs this year…and even parts of last year. However, throughout his career, his consistency has wildly been sporadic. And you hate to say, “he’s playing in a contract year now, so he’s giving it his all,… … but it’s hard to completely ignore that fact.
The fact is the Leafs could be spending $45 million for four forwards for years to come….Does the Nylander extension mean Tavares isn’t staying around?
