We know the New Jersey Devils will be active leading up to the 3 p.m. trade deadline. What remains to be seen is just how active.

Veteran winger P.A. Parenteau is essentially a lock to be traded as is defenseman Kyle Quincey. Neither is the best available player at their respective positions but there should still be plenty of interest.

Parenteau is a versatile winger who can put up some points and drive possession. Quincey is a solid depth defenseman who can hold his own at full-strength, kill penalties, and he brings some physicality as well.

Based on the current market, and some of the prices being thrown around, I think both players should be able to fetch the Devils decent assets.

Besides trading those two it's tough to predict what, if anything, the Devils will do. I'm sure they're more than willing to move Mike Cammalleri to an offensively starved team but they'd almost certainly have to eat a good portion of his salary to make that happen. Even then, a deal is unlikely at this point.

Many have asked me if I could see Shero acquiring a quality player from a cap strapped team. I think that kind of deal will have to wait until the deadline as the Devils may have to expose a player they don't want to in order to protect the guy they acquire. There will be more available in the summer, too, so it just makes sense to wait it out.

Still, it should be a fun day. Stay tuned to the blog and to my Twitter feed for my thoughts on all the action.
