Throughout the season, we will check in on the Toronto Maple Leafs prospects to see how they are progressing. The 2022 Draft saw Toronto trade their first-round pick to get out from under the Petr Mrazek contract, but it appears the club selected a number of players with some promise.
Here is how the other players selected in the 2022 Draft are doing:
Fraser Minten - C (Kamloops Blazers - WHL)
Minten surprised many with an excellent showing at Leafs camp, making the club, and playing four NHL games before being sent back to his junior club. The 19-year-old was named captain of the Blazers once he was sent down and had 10 points (3 goal, 7 assists) in seven games before he was dealt to the Saskatoon Blades to play with fellow 2022 Leafs pick Brandon Lisowsky.
Minten was also named Team Canada’s team captain for the 2024 IIHF World Junior in Sweden, where he scored three points (1 goal, 2 assists) in five games. Since joining the Blades, the 19-year-old has 19 points (9 goals, 10 assists) in 16 games.

Nicholas Moldenhauer – F – Michigan (NCAA)
The Mississauga native had a remarkable final season with the Chicago Steel (75 points – 30 goals, 45 assists) and in his freshman year at the University of Michigan, Moldenhauer has 16 points (6 goals, 10 assists) in 24 games.

Dennis Hildeby – G (Toronto – AHL)
The 22-year-old has had a renaissance since undergoing hip surgery before being selected in Montreal in 2022. After a solid season in the SHL with Farjestads, Hildeby joined the Marlies late last season, and this season, he has been one of the best goalies in the AHL, with a 10-7-4 record, a 2.42 GAA and .910 save percentage.
Elliotte Friedman speculates that Dennis Hildeby could join the LEafs on their West Coast Trip.

Nikita Grebenkin – RW (Magnitogorsk – KHL)
The 20-year-old winger was loaned to Amur Khabarovsk last season and had nine goals in 45 KHL games. This season, Magnitogorsk kept Grebenkin and the winger has blown by last year’s goal totals (16) and added 18 assists in 58 games for the first place Magnitogorsk squad.

Brandon Lisowsky – LW (Saskatoon – WHL)
The 5’9…, 179 lb winger has been someone who has performed well in the WHL and at Leafs training camps since being drafted. After scoring 38 goals and 71 points last season, Lisowsky is second on the Blades with 29 goals in 48 games.
Brandon Lisowsky just keeps scoring. That’s his 9th in the last 11 games and 29th on the season.#LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/zb7qJ2OZUR
