The Winnipeg Jets have placed super rookie winger Patrik Laine on injured reserve with a concussion.
The move is retroactive to January 7, when Laine was decked by Buffalo Sabres defenceman Jake McCabe on an open ice hit.
Laine was named to the NHL all-star this week. Laine. Is the NHL rookie scoring leader with 21 goals and 37 points through 42 games.
The Jets have not given a timetable for Laine's return to the lineup.

Patrik Laine's condition has not been updated by Paul Maurice nor the Winnipeg Jets.
Jets head coach Paul Maurice's take on the McCabe-Laine collision was as I expected. Maurice said it was a clean hit.

"No update. I don’t have a problem with the hit. They hit heads. It was a straight on hit."
