Bowen joins Hewitt and son Bill, Wes McKnight, Bob Cole, Howie Meeker and Harry Neale as broadcasters or hosts of Maple Leafs games who are recipients of the award.
The New York Post’s Larry Brooks was also named the winner of the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award, given "in recognition of distinguished members of the newspaper profession whose words have brought honor to journalism and to hockey" by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
