Yesterday was a busy one in the Blackhawks universe including:
* Chicago pulling of a 2-1 overtime victory over Carolina * Riley Stillman notching his first NHL goal * Kirby Dach being shut down for the season * Duncan Keith and Brett Connolly suffering concussions * Alec Regula making his NHL debut * Jakub Galvas signing his ELC

Game Notes
FINAL: #Blackhawks 2, Hurricanes 1 (OT)
— Charlie Roumeliotis (@CRoumeliotis) May 7, 2021
Shot attempts: 71-54 CAR
Shots on goal: 37-27 CAR
5-on-5 scoring chances: 36-29 CAR
5-on-5 high danger chances: 17-14 CAR pic.twitter.com/yAwu6eaz8v
The Blackhawks actually outhit the Hurricanes 36 to 24 but a lopsided stat was Carolina committing 30 giveaways to Chicago's dozen. However, the Canes did have 11 takeaways while the Hawks only had 4.

Player Notes
Alec Regula
Welcome to the show @AlecRegula!
— Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) May 6, 2021
So kind of the boys to give him a moment to enjoy the NHL ice all by himself 😅#Blackhawks pic.twitter.com/WiIMYLRVGE
While he could stand to be more physical, Regula is responsible in his own zone. He thinks defense first but can carry the mail. In Rockford this season he learned when to pinch offensively.

Keith & Connolly
Duncan Keith gets inadvertently kneed in the face by an official that leads to Hurricanes goal. Ouch. #Blackhawks pic.twitter.com/qsP8zmlURf
— Charlie Roumeliotis (@CRoumeliotis) May 6, 2021
Jeremy Colliton said Brett Connolly and Duncan Keith have concussions. #Blackhawks
— Charlie Roumeliotis (@CRoumeliotis) May 7, 2021
Up front, Strome has a high chance of closing out the season in Connolly's spot unless there's taxi squad maneuvering to recall a forward from Rockford like Evan Barratt or Andrei Altybarmakian.

Prospect Updates
Jakub Galvas
Signed on the dotted line🖊ï¸
— Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) May 6, 2021
Defenseman Jakub Galvas has inked a two-year entry-level contract that runs through the 2022-23 season! #Blackhawks pic.twitter.com/31JL2aDwXe
Similar to fellow D prospect Chad Krys, Galvas is willing to battle and his brain knows what to do but needs to get stronger as he lacks the strength to win a lot of wars in the slot, corners, and boards.

See you on the boards!
