Update: it appears that news gets lost in translation as Sorokin gets a raise for 17/18 but his contract still ends after the 17/18 season.
Some news out of the KHL today that effects the Islanders. Multiple news agencies are reporting that Ilya Soroykin signed a two-year extension with CSKA. This means he won't be sniffing the NHL until 2020. I'm sure, the Russian national team had ALOT to do with this as they will need a starting goalie for the upcoming Olympics. This is the perils of drafting a Russian. Focus needs to be shifted getting Linus Soderstrom signed as soon as possible.
