The Islanders dominated the 1980s, winning four Stanley Cups. It made sense that they would be represented on the NHL's 100 greatest players of all-time.
Denis Potvin was named as one of the defensemen. Billy Smith was named as one of the goaltenders. Mike Bossy, Pat LaFontaine and Bryan Trottier were named for forwards. It was nice to see LaFontaine get recognized.
The icing on the cake was former Islanders broadcaster Jiggs McDonald narrating the highlights of the 1980s players.
