Everybody loves Sprong! ESPN adds “VPN detector… (Red Wings)

The previous post had a nice mixed bag in the comments section. From the Griffins recent surge to recommendations of a “soft cap/luxury tax… system and a little of everything in between.

One trend that seems to be fairly consistent is that when asked about expiring deals and roster tweaks there is a lot of love for Sprong. This is a player that seems to find a way to create opportunities even when the ice time is “diminished….

The question that will inevitably come up may be Perron vs. Sprong. As prospects push their way up there are veterans that will have to say “adios…. I love seeing Perron on the team. Perron is 35 and Sprong is 26. Perron’s vision and ability to back off defenders keeps him so valuable on the power play. His shot is still good. It’s going to become an issue of “shelf life… at some point. Perron could be an excellent power play coach. Let me know your thoughts. Sprong will be looking for a raise at some point and what is the “cutoff… on age in the new NHL. The 35+ deals seem to drive clubs to short term deals or just moving on.

On to point number two. My friend had a notice from ESPN that password sharing was being eliminated. Then this morning “error 92… became a huge google search. Disney and Hulu then announced an end to password sharing starting in March. Most of you know all three companies are trying to merge. Disney made the down payment for the last portion of Hulu and already owns ESPN at this point.

Error 92 is going to start popping up in March. If too many devices are logged into an account it will be temporarily suspended. Then, somehow, the companies have added “VPN detection…. It sounds code based, the fingerprints of the providers. All of this was announced at around the same time during the weekend when the news cycle isn’t really as active.

IF you get some sort of notice like that, shoot me a DM. The VPN detection has me a bit concerned. Some people genuinely use it for security. Not going to be a huge publicity darling.

Changes are on the horizon. We see the players starting to push back on underperforming franchises but meanwhile the game has so much excitement built in. The skills training that starts younger and younger is producing some impressive players. All this other stuff only hurts that. As always, let me know your thoughts and experiences in the changing landscape.
