Dumba Out for 3 Months (Wild)

Well we found out what the upper body injury Matt Dumba suffered a week and a half ago vs. Calgary. Dumba had surgery today to repair a ruptured right pectoral muscle and will be lost for 3 months.

It is a huge blow to the Wild and for Dumba personally who was leading all NHL defensemen with 12 goals, well on his way to new career highs and no doubt some Norris Trophy consideration as well.

Unfortunately we will never know just how this season would have turned out for Dumba, and the Wild will have to figure out where they will make up for his lost production as they seek their seventh straight playoff berth.

Wild GM, Paul Fenton already had his work cut out for him as the Wild have been in free fall since mid-November, but his task just became all that much more challenging with the news of Dumba's prognosis.

The team needs an influx of new blood. The challenge is there to see who steps up and who will be going.

Either way the rest of this season should be interesting to say the least.
