Just spoke to a source who confirmed the Sharks are going to wait this one out a bit...The Sharks can start talking extension with Karlsson on January 1 (aka Tuesday) but it appears they are more likely to wait this one out and see how Karlsson performs in the playoffs...
This is only really news because when Erik initially was moved to San Jose it was believed he would be absolutely extended at the earliest possible time.....and now that appears to be exactly opposite... While Karlsson hasn't blown the doors off in San Jose his game has picked up and his real value is perceived to be in the playoffs...
The Rangers and Lightning are believed to have tons of interest in Erik Karlsson should he hit the market..
