If disallowing alternates is not just a one-off I won't like the decision at all. If anything, I don't think teams use their alternates enough as is. Some teams have relatively boring jerseys and alternates are usually more flashy and creative so I like seeing them. I also really enjoy several retro spin-offs like Calgary's and Winnipeg's. Just look at these beautiful things.
A bit late to the party but finally catching up now and let me just say that these uniforms the Jets are rocking tonight are straight fire. pic.twitter.com/tUjshOl8Dh

Peter Tessier This probably has to do with the change over to the new Adidas jerseys that are supplied next season. It makes sense and we can see how that fits together without adding in one variable. I guess there will be an exception for a Winter Classic?
In the end it's not big deal unless you are a team like the Hurricanes or Canucks who's jerseys are basically bad. Small potatoes really so let's do something that almost never happens, support the NHL as they try to do something the right way.
James Tanner I don't understand why they care one way or another if a team wants to have 82 different jerseys. Who could possibly care?
I fail to understand how this affects the game one way or another.
