Depleted Wings fall to Stars 6-3, Perron gone for 6 (Red Wings)

If you missed the result of Perron’s DPS hearing, Perron received a six game suspension. Almost no information about Larkin other than “upper body… and since he’s on IR “at least a week…. Whatever’s going on with Compher, his return would be huge for this team.

Summary:

I’ll give Detroit credit, they made a game of it after being down 4-1. Veleno got the team within one, but Pavelski re extended the Dallas lead. The goal with .2 seconds left in the first was a gut punch. Another goalie lets in 4, and so many chances came from bad passes and bad clearing attempts.

Obviously, Detroit is missing top 6 players. Part of the season is dealing with injuries. The frustration comes with the lack of information but I think most of us can guess why anyone would be hesitant to list an exact injury. The question is, how long is this going to be the lineup. Sprong/Fabbri/Fischer made some good plays, and could easily be the most “together… line right now.

There’s really not much to say about this. If you were expecting the team to be a little bit of a mess, there were moments that were cringeworthy. Reimer let in 5 on 34 shots. Yes, there were shots he had no chance on but Detroit need a goalie to let in fewer than 4 and it’s going the wrong way. The team isn’t communicating in the D zone, but you still need a goalie to make tough and big saves.

This may be the look of the team for the next 5 games. The team has to be hoping that Compher is close to returning and that Larkin isn’t going to need any serious intervention. Yzerman may have something up his sleeve, but it’s probably best not to count on that for right now.
