With a number of teams right up against the cap, contenders are going to looking for inexpensive depth options as the deadline approaches.
One potential target is Devils veteran blueliner Dmitry Kulikov. The 30-year-old has played for Florida, Buffalo, and Winnipeg and has just two assists in 28 games, but is someone who would not take up a lot of cap space and be a dependable option as a seventh D.
