With training camps opening league-wide in just a couple weeks, unsigned free agents are slowly starting to sign professional tryouts.
The first player to agree to join the Calgary Flames in camp – at least publicly – is goaltender Jeff Glass.
Jeff Glass just announced on our podcast (@BoscoPodcast) that he's signed a PTO with the Calgary Flames.

The 32-year-old journeyman finally cracked the NHL last year and garnered less than stellar results. He posted a woeful .896 save percentage in 15 games with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Though they weren't exactly stingy defensively, it's hardly a surprise Glass struggled given he managed only a .904 save percentage in 28 games with Rockford (AHL).
As poorly as Jon Gillies and David Rittich played at times – particularly down the stretch – they still posted better GSAA (goals saved above average) numbers than Glass.
Per Evolving-Hockey, Rittich was worth -4.05 GSAA, Gillies was worth -4.42, and Glass was worth -6.32 GSAA.
Glass was as bad or worse than Rittich and Gillies last season and he is also much older. One would assume it'll take a really good showing for Glass to beat out both of those guys.
There's no harm in giving him a look in camp but I wouldn't expect anything to come of it.
