The Devils have been trying for months. They liked Jacob when no one liked the guy. But the price was always too high. So everyone was saying, "Wait till the price comes down..." But no one thought Markstrom would actually play up to the high return... I think NJ may be willing to do more than we think. What if Bratt were to enter the convo? Seattle and Chicago have also called on Markstrom. The only team he approved a trade for....NJ.
On Parayko....
Colton is having a great season..but he is only signed for one year after this oner. The Blues have always been really good at selling high. This is not a deadline player...this is a move for the future and it isn't surprising therefore that two non-playoff are teams Montreal and Washington.
on Gibson....
Is this one actually happens....it will be the trade if the year and one of the most interesting trades we have seen....The LA Kings have called the Ducks on John Gibson. An easy move Gibby...but the Ducks want AND WILL GET a ton if they are move him uptown...Devils, Sabres, Kraken are all also checking some tires here...
