AkBars Kazan are one step away from winning their third Gagarin Cup, after a 3-1 victory over CSKA Moscow in Game 4 of their best-of-seven series.
CSKA was stymied by AkBars goalie Emil Garipov, especially during a first period power play and AkBars struck late in the first period,on a goal from Justin Azevedo.

In the 2nd, AkBars killed a penalty and increased their lead, as former Edmonton Oiler Anton Lander made it 2-0, but CSKA responded quickly as Andrei Svetlakov deflected Ivan Telegin's shot to make it 2-1.

CSKA pressed for the tying goal and dominated play, but couldn't take advantage. Lander scored into an empty net to clinch the victory and put AkBars a win away from Gagarin Cup victory.
