The Oshawa Generals are trying to scrub away their PR mess after sending out an email to season ticket holders that suggested some of them have bad hygiene habits.
The Ontario Hockey League team has issued an apology for the email that read: “If you went to the gym or did something that produced body odor, please shower before attending the game."

A team spokesperson explained the email was issued because the team had received an increase in the number of complaints from fans complaining about the smell of people sitting next to them.
It didn't take long before the Generals realized they had overstepped when speaking to fans about their personal hygiene.
Other notes:
2. Karlsson Chase: Depending upon how long Sweden survives in the tournament, Pittsburgh's Erik Karlsson has a shot to become the all-time points leader for defensemen in Olympics with NHL players. He now has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in nine games. The defensemen with more: Marek Zidlicky (6-8—14 in 17 games with Czechia), Nicklas Lidstrom (4-10—14 in 20 games with Sweden), Brian Rafalski (5-8—13 in 17 games with USA), Kimmo Timonen (3-10—13 in 30 games with Finland) and Shea Weber (5-7—12 in 13 games with Canada).
3. Red Wings-Jets talking?: The Winnipeg Jets had multiple scouts watching the Detroit Red Wings' minor-league affiliate in Grand Rapids recently.
4. Cue Up the Debate: With the Kings losing Kevin Fiala for the season, it reminds us why many owners (and some fans) are opposed to NHL participation at the Olympics. Players are the driving force for Olympic participation. Most of us respect that players want to be there, but not everyone. The Kings are second-to-last in the NHL in five-on-five goals. They thought bringing in Artemi Panarin would help remedy that, but losing Fiala leaves them in a two-steps-forward-one-step-back position.
5. Blame Game: Swedish media is piling on Lucas Raymond for taking a bad penalty that led to Slovakia scoring a power play goal that allowed them to win the group because of a goal-differential tiebreaker. But shouldn't goalie Jacob Markstrom share in the blame? He mishandled a Juraj Slafkovsky shot. The puck was left loose in the crease for a tap-in goal by Dalibor Dvorsky. That was the goal that gave Slovakia the No. 1 seed.
6. Goals, Please: When it comes to seeking more goals at the trade deadline, the Kraken also need to be at the front of the line before the March 6 trade deadline. The Kraken are in a playoff spot in the Western Conference but have scored 20-plus fewer goals than all of the leaders in the Pacific Division and the current wildcard teams. That's why the Kraken went hard after Panarin.
7, What We've Re-learned at Olympics: 1. Goalie Interference is strictly enforced. The international game respects a goalie's right to make a save; 2. Matthew Tkachuk doesn't need a "C" to be the leader of the American team; 3. Don't sleep on Slovakia.
8. That's a Stretch: The NHL's Central Scouting lists 7-foot-1 Brantford Titans Junior A defenseman Alexander Karmonov as a player to watch this season. Veteran hockey writer Ken Campbell's article in the Toronto Star quotes an anonymous scout saying he is sure to get drafted. Originally from Moldova, Karmonov has committed to Penn State, according to Campbell. The NHL has never had a seven-foot player. Zdeno Chara is 6-foot-9.
