Injuries Mean Chances Update 12:02 pm (Islanders)

12:02 pm: And there it is. Michael Grabner has been activated off IR. Well, Hello Gremlin.

10 am:

UNIONDALE, NY (December 3, 2014) – The New York Islanders announced today that defenseman Griffin Reinhart has been recalled under emergency conditions from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. The club has also placed defenseman Johnny Boychuk on injured reserve, retroactive to November 27, and Lubomir Visnovsky on injured reserve, retroactive to November 28.

Reinhart, 20, appeared in his first three National Hockey League games earlier this season with the Islanders. The North Vancouver, BC, native has eight points (two goals, six assists) in 15 games with the Sound Tigers this season.

They say adversity brings opportunity, and so we shall see. The question regarding Ryan Pulock had been floated the last few days, but it seems they will wait a bit before pulling the cord on that one.

Now, with the Senators being a very "fast" team as was proven last night, maybe the return of Wyle E. Grabner for a Thursday season debut would be a good thing. We'll see. Of course, his speed is legendary. Hitting the net is another thing.

Sideboard: It is a sad day in Hockey as we mourn the passing of hockey legend Jean Beliveau. Rest in Peace. You will never be forgotten.
