2015 IIHF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: FLYERS UPDATES
* Team Canada remained unbeaten but had to survive a scare from Team France to earn a 4-3 regulation win in Prague on Saturday. A Jordan Eberle power play goal midway through the third period proved to be the game winner. Brayden Schenn played for the first time in four tournament games but only saw nine shifts and 5:23 of ice time. He did not record a point or shot on goal. Teammates Claude Giroux (three shots on goal, 18:01 TOI, even plus-minus) and Sean Couturier (five shots, 14:24 TOI, even plus-minus) also did not figure in the scoring. Canada plays Team Switzerland, featuring Mark Streit on Sunday. Switzerland plays Sweden on Saturday in a 2:15 p.m. EDT game.
* Team Czech Republic blanked Austria by a 4-0 count on Friday. Czech captain Jakub Voracek scored the final goal, tallying just seven seconds after the drop of the opening faceoff of the third period. He was even in plus-minus with three shots on goal in 14:44 of ice time. The Czechs play Germany on Sunday, while the Austrians play Latvia on Saturday.

TODAY IN FLYERS HISTORY: FLYERS GET WIN IN BOSTON IN '74 FINAL
During the inaugural season in franchise history, the Philadelphia Flyers earned a win over the Bruins at Boston Garden on the night of Nov. 12, 1967. Immediately thereafter, however, the Garden would become a house of horrors for the expansion team. The Flyers would not win another game in Boston until May 9, 1974.
The next win, however, could not possibly have come at a more important time. The Flyers earned a 3-2 overtime win over the Bruins to knot the 1974 Stanley Cup Final at one game apiece. Bobby Clarke's overtime rebound goal and celebratory jump for joy became an iconic moment in franchise history. With the home team winning every other game in the series, this victory was crucial to the Flyers winning the Stanley Cup.
The Flyers trailed by a 2-0 score after the first period. Clarke's first goal of the game, scored 1:08 into the second period, cut the gap in half. However, Philly remained in dire straights as the score remained 2-1 throughout the second period and down to the final minute of regulation.
Finally, Andre "Moose" Dupont scored with just 52 seconds left in the third period to force OT. Clarke assisted on this goal before scoring the winner in OT. Vezina Trophy and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Bernie Parent stopped 37 of 39 shots.
