Dano, Anisimov Start Worlds On High Note + Prospect Updates (Blue Jackets)

The Columbus Blue Jackets' season may be over, but that's not the case for all of their players.

A handful of Blue Jackets are representing their countries at the World Hockey Championships, while some of the team's top prospects are still in action in the CHL.

Some updates:

- Marko Dano got off to a good start with the Slovaks. Though he didn't record a point against the Danes, he had five shots in a little over 17 minutes, and also scored the game-winning-goal in the shootout. Dano is one of Slovakia's best players and will be relied upon heavily in this tournament, so I'm curious to see what he can do playing legitimate top-6 minutes. He was outstanding in a lesser role with Columbus.

- Arty Party Anisimov picked up a goal and five shots while seeing over 19 minutes of ice in Russia's 6-2 win over Norway. He figures to be an impact player for the Russians in this tournament.

- David Savard is another Blue Jacket who started his tournament off on a high note. Savard played less than 11 minutes for a stacked Canada team, however, he still picked up an assist and had three shots on goal in the team's 6-1 win over Latvia.

- Jeremy Morin and Mike Reilly didn't make much of an impact in USA's 5-1 win over Finland. Morin played a little over 10 minutes for Todd Richards (just like in Columbus) and was held without a point, while Reilly had a couple shots and was held pointless in a little over 15 minutes or work.

- In junior hockey Peter Quenneville was held pointless in an 8-2 Brandon win, however, with that win the Wheat Kings have advanced to the WHL Final. They await the winner of Portland vs Kelowna.

- Speaking of Portland, Oliver Bjorkstrand and his Winterhawks are on the brink of elimination after suffering a 2-1 overtime loss to Kelowna on Friday night. The Winterhawks trail 3-2.

- Lastly, Nick Moutrey's North Bay Battalion were also put on the brink of elimination after suffering their second straight loss to Oshawa. The Troops also trail 3-2.
