I'm back at it after two nights off, which I needed! Let's try to get back on the winning track with a huge 11 game card tonight. Road teams and favs were 4-1 last night! I will update all my system plays later in the day and add in that feature at the bottom of the blog.
COL/NJ - The Avs snapped their 2 game losing streak last night in crazy 5-4 fashion in Long Island. The Devils sat rested last night while the Avs played an emotional/physical game and have CAR on deck on the road, then a rematch with Calgary on Sunday night. This is the ultimate sandwich game, NJ has beat some very good teams at home(CAR/VAN/STL/EDM/FL) which explains why the Avs are only -210. Lean to NJ +175!
VEG/PHI - Vegas starts a 5 game road trip tonight and sure they have 3 of their last 4 games but who did they beat? When you look back at their last 10 games, they have lost all meaningful games(CAL/LA/COL x 2/BOS) so beware when betting on this team. The Flyers finish their 8 game homestand tonight in which they went 2-5. Lean to the under 6 and the Flyers +150 who won in Vegas 4-3 earlier this year.
FL/PITT - The Pens sat rested last night while FL won in BUFF, but Pitt has been off for 4 days too and the Panthers will face a rested Pens team that is very good at home while FL is very average on the road. They split the first two meetings of the year with each team winning a home. Panthers are 1-6 in their last 7 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation. The Panthers return home for one game against Philly before hitting the road for a 7 game road trip. Lean to Pitt -110.
SEA/TOR - The Kraken sat rested in Toronto while the Leaf's played a heck of a physical game in CLB. The Leaf's won in SEA earlier this year 6-2 but are an average 5-5 in their last 10 games. TOR plays SEA and AZ this week before their outdoor game on Saturday afternoon against the Sabres. SEA is 1-9 in their last 10 games are playing their 3rd in 4 nights on the road. No lean here with TOR -270 and SEA +220, slight lean to the under 6.5.
AZ/DET - The Yotes have won 4 of their last 6 games but all at home, they now hit the road for 5 games but did beat DET at home 2-1 earlier this season. The Wings have been awful lately losing 5 of their last 7 games and are 3-7 in their last 10 games at home, where they had played much better this season. Lean to AZ as a dog here.
OTT/STL - The Sens are playing their 5th game in 8 nights on the road and have lost all 4 on this roadie. The Blues have played 8 of their last 9 games on the road and have lost 3 in row, off their 4 game roadie. STL -283 is a steep price but tempted to play the PL as they won in Ottawa a few weeks ago 5-2. Ottawa played very well last game out and could carry that momentum to this game at +175!
DAL/NSH - The Stars have won 4 in a row and the first 2 games of their roadie in WIN & MIN. NSH is 3-7 in their last 10 games and has been hard to figure out lately. DAL beat NSH at home in both games head to head this season while NSH beat DAL at home. DAL +105 as a dog playing some great hockey is hard not to back here.
NYR/MIN - The Wild have fallen apart the last 10 games, going 2-8 and have lost 3 straight at home too. The NY Rangers are 5-2 in their last 7 games and are playing better hockey lately and have gone under the total in 7 of their last 10 games. MIN has gone over the total in 8 of their last 10 games, but somehow the NYR are a small dog at +125. Lean to NYR +125.
TB/WIN - The Jets are fighting for their playoff lives and the Lightning are on a 6 game roadie with Calgary & Edmonton on deck. TB is 8-2 in their last 10 games and the Jets are 4-6 in their last 10 games. I could see Eilliott in goal for TB which could be the reason that the line is only -167 for TB and WIN +145. No lean here, better games on the card.
ANA/CHI - The Ducks are off a 6 game roadie and are an average road with Stolarz starting in goal due to the Gibson injury. CHI beat ANA earlier this year at home 3-0 and the Ducks will be fighting to stay in the playoff hunt with 5 straight on the road. Lean to the desperate Ducks at even money.
WSH/CAL - The Caps sat rested while the Flames played their biggest rival EDM and prior to that won at COL. This could be a huge letdown spot for the Flames as they have TB and COL on deck later this week. The Caps are on a quick 3 game western Canada road trip and lost to CAL at home earlier this season. Lean to the Caps +120 as this line looks to be a Vegas sucker line with CAL a far superior team at only -141 at home.
