I will be back with my rumor blog along with my buyers and sellers of the West this afternoon, but first....What an amazing day/night of hockey yesterday at the World Juniors!
The USA/ Russia game may have been in the Top 10 hockey games I have watched all time. And definitely top three of non-NHL games. The Americans and Russians really played to a standoff. Both teams deserved to win, but the Americans at the end of the day pulled out a small miracle on ice.
The clutch play by team USA and Russia was something to behold. And of course the fact that Russia had owned USA (7-0) in playoff round play, including their last three eliminations, played into it all as well. Honestly doesn't get much better.
As for Canada, it is never easy beating Sweden in this tournament, but they too found a way in a game that was closer than the score appeared.
Which brings us to today. Russia/Sweden for bronze at 3 and USA/Canada for Gold at 7:30. Doesn't get much better. All of this will be on TSN in Canada and NHL Network in the States.
We will discuss this with Russ Cohen (in Montreal) at noon today.
