Hey all!
The 2018 NHL Trade Deadline is history! I need to first thank the staff, my sources, but most of all, ALL of you for helping us set records year after year. Tomorrow we will launch into what happened today and how it sets up the draft/trades and UFA's that are all just a few months away...
But FIRST!
There are playoffs to be made and Stanley Cup to be won and that is why I am bringing back last year's popular feature, The HockeyBuzz Projected NHL Final Standings...Those of you who followed this last year remember they were pretty darn accurate and a lot of fun to watch change day by day...
How they work is simple. Instead of just giving a team a percentage to make the playoffs based on where they currently sit in the standings, we have written a program that plays out every game remaining in the season based on several categories including how a team is currently playing, the game by game matchups, records in certain buildings, records at home, records in Back to back games, and more. The computer plays out all the games remaining and we land with a Projected Final Standings of how the teams "should" finish if all holds true to form...The fun part of course is hockey is a sport of upsets and with every upset a team can change their fate and the values all get recalculated...
So without further introduction...Here is how our BUZZTRON 9000 Computer is seeing it as of today...First, the predictions for tonight's games...We will track how we do...
